Himalayan Fundraising Treks 2013
Due to the resounding success of the NFN treks in 2008 and 2011 there has been an unprecedented demand for places on the New Futures Nepal Anniversary Trek in 2013. Therefore NFN will be running two Anniversary treks in 2013.
16th-27th October AND 30th Oct –10th Nov 2013 (Dates may be subject to slight variation)
- An eleven day trip with six days trekking.
- You will trek the Tamang Heritage Trail, to discover the beauty of this mountain region, learn about the locals’ culture and crafts, visit ancient monasteries and bath in natural hot springs.
- A gentle/moderate trek to a maximum altitude of 3,300m.
- Accommodation in hotels and tea houses.
- In Kathmandu you will be taken on a guided tour of ancient Bhaktapur and visit the Hope Centre.
- The money you raise will improve the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and adults in Nepal and India.
- To secure your place a registration fee of £400 is required.
- To experience this trek you will need to raise a minimum sponsorship of £3,100 (total=£3,500)
The Tamang Heritage Trail is part of the ancient Nepalese and Tibetan trading route and is a less commercial route than previous NFN treks. It was developed under the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Programme to create tourism opportunities within the poor rural communities of the region. Therefore a portion of the fees paid for this trek will contribute directly to local livelihoods, women’s empowerment and environmental conservation.
